In 2007 I completed my first book, Except the Father Draw Him--A Journey With the Spirit of Christ. It contains theological ideas and theories that I developed and validated using the Bible for confirmation. I consider myself a kind of "layman theologian," and have found it both exciting and inspiring to venture into this kind of intellectual and spiritual exploration and writing.
For many years I have been an avid reader of books by theologians and biblical scholars. I have especially studied the works of St. Augustine and Jonathon Edwards (a past president of Princeton University). I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Science (M.S.M.) degree from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

My Early MLM Days
I swore off home business opportunities about seven years ago, but not for the reasons you might think. I was actually an extremely successful marketer and was the top national distributor for a well known MLM (multi-level marketing) company.
I recruited a phenomenal numbers of downline distributors and I developed my own training and development systems. People kept begging me to tell them my secrets and help them to be more successful. I didn't have the time to handle so many requests, far less work with people one-on-one, so I started publishing a newsletter called "Distributor Strategy" and developed some training materials that I could share with other entrepreneurs.
As successful as I was with recruiting and marketing the products sold by that well known MLM company, it became clear that retaining recruits was a much more difficult matter than getting them to join and purchase products for a few months. The drop-out rate was very high, and despite my sharing of the strategies I had developed and successfully used, most of my downline distributors were either unable or unwilling to duplicate my efforts. So I got more and more stressed and burned out from the constant pressure to bring in more and more new distributors to "plug the holes" left by the ones that were dropping out at an alarming rate.
I have to admit that by the time I left that business I had a bad taste in my mouth about the whole MLM industry, even though I had been able to become one of those top-earning distributors and was in the top 1% of that company's distributors. It was like trying to work in quicksand.
